In 1952, Toyoshima Store was founded along the shores of Lake Kasumigaura as a business of Eel and Freshwater Fish boiled in sweetened soy sauce.
After the second president passed away, We took over the sauces and know-how. In 2010, The third president opened Unagi and Charcoal-grilled TOYOCHOU in Tsukuba city.
Our eel is domestically sourced, mainly from Sadowara in the South Kyusyu area of Miyazaki prefecture. Occasionally additional eel is acquired from other areas of Miyazaki and Kagoshima prefecture.
We are dedicating our “KABAYAKI” to Shrine of KASHIMA
for hoping that everyones’s happiness.
