Experience authentic Japanese UNAGI — tender, fragrant freshwater eel grilled over charcoal — a dish cherished for centuries.
Raised in the crystal-clear waters of Southern Kyushu, our UNAGI has a pure, clean flavor with no odor.
Since 1952, our signature sauce has been continuously refined and deepened, creating a taste that’s rich and unforgettable.
Every bowl is served with locally grown Hitachi Oda rice from Tsukuba — soft, aromatic, and the perfect match for our UNAGI.

Nanamabushi – Seven-Flavor Hitsumabushi
Our signature specialty — a luxurious take on Nagoya-style Hitsumabushi.
We call it “Nanamabushi,” as it’s enjoyed with seven different condiments that enhance the flavor of UNAGI.
A full, premium Kyushu-grown UNAGI is grilled over charcoal to bring out its delicate aroma.
An authentic Hitsumabushi experience available only at Toyochou in Tsukuba.。

How to Enjoy:
- First, enjoy the pure flavor of our UNAGI and rice.
- Then, add condiments such as shiso, green onions, and wasabi.
- Finally, pour hot dashi broth over it and enjoy as a soothing ochazuke (UNAGI rice soup).


Special Unajū – Full UNAGI over Rice
A full UNAGI from Miyazaki or Kagoshima, grilled over charcoal and brushed with our house sauce refined since 1952.
Enjoy the deep, smoky aroma and the elegant sweetness of the sauce, paired with locally grown Hitachi Oda rice.

Special Shirayaki Unajū
A full domestic UNAGI grilled without sauce, allowing the natural umami to shine.
